Let's Set the Record Straight

No taxes will be increased on a single Norman resident.

FACT #1

OU will use the arena about 24% of the time, with the remaining 76% dedicated to other community events, such as concerts.

FACT #2

80% of project cost (roughly $800 million) comes from private funds; less than 20% is covered with public funds.

Norman has NO risk. Parties other than the City of Norman are arranging the financing, issuing the bonds, and taking the risk of bond payments on property currently creating NO revenue for the city.

TIFs are very common. In 2024 alone there are 109 TIFs active in Oklahoma; 384 in Missouri. And 794
in Texas.
